About Lama Tsultrim:

Lama Tsultrim Allione is a unique role model for the embodiment of both an ancient wisdom tradition, Tibetan Buddhism, and of modern insights and methods from Western psychology. She is known for her profound clarity and for her ability to bring together psychological and spiritual insights in a way that is not only highly accessible for ‘beginners’ on the path of spirituality and searching for meaning, but also extremely inspiring and enriching for those who have already been on that path for some time.

Lama Tsultrim, mother of 3 children, was one of the first woman ordained as a Tibetan nun in 1970; since then, she has received teachings and ‘transmission’ from many celebrated Tibetan teachers. She has taught internationally for more than 30 years and became well-known with the publishing of her book Women of Wisdom. Tsultrim Allione is founder of the Tara Mandala Retreat Center in the United States. She is the recipient of the ‘Outstanding Woman in Buddhism’ award for 2009.

Her most recent book, Feeding Your Demons: Ancient Wisdom for Resolving Inner Conflicts. The central theme is how we deal with our extremely human but often stubborn inner conflicts with ‘demons’ such as fear, judgment, obsession, perfectionism, regret, doubt, addiction, illness; in short, everything that can limit our happiness in life.  ‘Feeding your demons’ is a modern form of the traditional ‘Chöd meditation’, developed in the 11th century by the female yogini  Machig Labdrön, in which all essentials of Tibetan wisdom traditions are embedded. In 2007, while leading a pilgrimage to Tibet, she was recognized as an emanation of Machig Labdrön by the resident Lama of Zangri Khangmar (Machig’s monastery in Tibet). In 2009 she was selected by an esteemed committee of scholars and practitioners to receive the international Outstanding Woman in Buddhism Award given in Bangkok, Thailand.

Having practiced this tradition for decades, Lama Tsultrim truly inspires with her lucid presentations, her accessible ways of working, and 'the palpable transmission of her lived experience'. Attending this retreat is a unique chance to dive deeply in the ancient Chod-practice in the lineage of Machig Labdron.
